Answer
See a Crochet Pattern Built in 3D, Round by Round
Yes. Craftuary's 3D build-along shows a crochet pattern being built on screen round by round, with each round's stitch count, so you can see what your piece should look like before and while you make it; every pattern that has one includes a free preview, and the full build you can pause and turn is $4.99 per pattern. CrochetPARADE (crochetparade.org) is a free, open-source browser tool that simulates a pattern in 3D if you write it in its own notation.

|---|---|---|
| Craftuary 3D build-alongours | Free amigurumi patterns built on screen round by round from their own stitch counts, with the count on screen. Free preview on every pattern that has one; the full step-through build is $4.99 per pattern, or included with an annual plan. | Following a real pattern while you crochet |
| Craftuary Academy: Crochet 101ours | Free looping 3D lessons for each stitch (magic ring, single crochet, increase, invisible decrease, rounds). | Learning the stitches in 3D |
| CrochetPARADE | A free, open-source (GPL) browser tool by Svetlin Tassev: write a pattern in its stitch notation and it simulates the result as a 3D model you can rotate. You write the pattern in its notation; you can't paste any written pattern. | Testing your own pattern ideas in 3D |
| Stitch Fiddle | An online chart pattern editor for knitting, cross stitch and other crafts. | 2D charts (not 3D) |
How to start
- Watch the free preview. Open a pattern's 3D build and watch the whole piece form in seconds.
- Step through it while you crochet. In the full build, pause on your round and turn the model to see where each stitch goes.
- Check the counts. Each round shows its stitch count, the same number printed at the end of the round in the pattern.
Questions
Can I see a crochet pattern in 3D before I make it?
Yes. Craftuary's free daily amigurumi patterns have a free 3D preview, and the full round-by-round 3D build is $4.99 per pattern. CrochetPARADE simulates patterns written in its own notation for free.
Is the 3D build exactly what my toy will look like?
It is a step-by-step guide built from the pattern's counts, so it looks smoother and simpler than real yarn. Each build ends on the photo of the finished toy.
Can I paste any crochet pattern into a 3D viewer?
Not reliably. Craftuary builds its own patterns in 3D; CrochetPARADE needs the pattern rewritten in its notation. To check any pasted pattern's stitch counts, use the free pattern checker at craftuary.com/check.
