Before you buy
You are buying a digital file, not a finished garment and not a guarantee of a result. What you get out of a pattern depends on your yarn or fabric, your tension, your printer and your making. None of that is something we can control or check for you.
Digital files are non-refundable. Delivery is instant and a file cannot be returned once it has been sent, so all sales are final. This is the same policy this shop has always had and it is standard for instant downloads.
If a file has a mistake in it, we will correct it or replace it. That is the remedy. Write to us and we will fix the file.
Plans and extra-design packs are digital services with instant access (the checker, the Designer and, on annual plans, every premium pattern), so payments are final and not refundable, including renewals. You can cancel any time from your account page; that stops the next renewal, and you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. Extra designs never expire. At checkout you tick a box to confirm you agree to this.
Designs are made by AI together with our own pattern engine and stitch-count check. They are checked carefully but can still contain mistakes, so look a design over before you start. A photo you add is used once as inspiration for an original design and is never stored; only add photos you have the right to use. We do not copy patterns or make trademarked or copyrighted characters, and you should not sell items based on someone else's character or brand.
Designs teach the Designer. What you describe, the plan and the finished pattern may be used to improve the Designer, including as anonymous examples for future designs. Your name, email and photos are never part of that.
Our patterns and designs are made with AI and automatic checks, which can still get things wrong; you confirm this with a tick box before you pay. If a round or a step doesn't work when you make it, tell us which one (hello@craftuary.com, or "Report a problem" on a design). When we confirm it, we fix the pattern for everyone, and the first time you help us this way we add one free Designer design to your account as a thank-you (once per account).
Outside the EU, UK and Switzerland we use the Pinterest tag to count visits, and tell Pinterest, with your email scrambled (hashed) first, when you sign up, join the email list or buy, so we can see which pins work. We never sell your data.
You can send a photo of a piece you made from one of our patterns. By sending it you confirm you made the piece and took the photo, and you allow Craftuary to show it on that pattern's page, without your name. We look at every photo before it is shown and may not show it. The photo is resized and its location data removed before it is sent. Ask hello@craftuary.com to take a photo down at any time.
We are not responsible for fabric, yarn, notions, printing, time or any other cost you incur while working from a pattern, and we do not accept that risk. The price of a pattern cannot underwrite the price of materials, which is why the checks above matter: test first, then commit.
Email hello@craftuary.com before you carry on. If a file has a mistake in it we will correct it or replace it, and that is the remedy. It only works while there is still something to save, so please write before you cut, not after.
By buying you ask for the file to be delivered immediately and you accept that this ends the 14 day right of withdrawal that would otherwise apply to digital content.
For personal use and for selling individual items you have made yourself. The file itself may not be shared, resold or passed on. Every file carries the buyer's email address and order number.
One account per person. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account. Do not use bots, scrapers or scripts on the site, try to get around limits, or misuse the help box, rewards or free offers. We may suspend or close accounts that do, and remove rewards gained that way.
Free patterns, lessons and tools are offered as they are and may change. Visitors without a paid plan may see ads; paid members do not. How we handle your data is in our privacy policy.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything to do with Craftuary is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited.
We may update these terms; the date below changes when we do, and the terms in force when you bought apply to that purchase. Last updated October 14, 2026.
