Assembly

  1. Stuff the Pumpkin firmly before closing it, and leave a long tail of colour A. Segments: take the tail from the bottom centre up through the top centre and back down the outside; repeat 6 times evenly around, pulling snugly so it dimples and shows 6 ridges.
  2. Stuff the Hat lightly so the point stands up.
  3. Embroider the band on the hat around Rnds 8-9 with colour C. All the way around, just above the open edge.
  4. Sew the hat to the brim at Rnd 2. The open edge of the Hat centred on the Brim, all the way round.
  5. Sew the brim to the pumpkin between Rnds 2 and 3. Centred over the dimple at the top, tilted slightly to one side.
  6. Embroider the two oval eyes on the pumpkin around Rnds 8-9 with colour B. On the front, about 6 stitches apart.
  7. Embroider the small smile on the pumpkin at Rnd 10 with colour B. Centred under the eyes.
  8. Optional, to hang it: thread a length of colour A through the tip of the Hat and tie it into a hanging loop.
  9. Weave in all ends.
