What you'll make
3 pieces (Tree, Base, Star), 18 rounds in all, every round with its stitch count written at the end so you can check as you go.
Tips
- Work in continuous spiral rounds and move your stitch marker up every round.
- Count your stitches at the end of each round; the number in brackets is what you should have.
- Use a hook a size smaller than your yarn label suggests, so the stuffing doesn't show.
- These make lovely gift toppers and tree ornaments; add a hanging loop before you sew the last piece.

- Sew the base to the last round of the tree all the way around, adding a little more stuffing before you close, so it stands flat.
- Embroider the ten red baubles (French knots) on the tree around Rnds 4-11 with colour C. Scattered all around the tree.
- Embroider the eight white baubles (French knots) on the tree around Rnds 5-11 with colour D. Scattered between the red ones.
- Sew the star to the tree at Rnd 1. First pinch the 5 corners into points, then sew the star standing upright on the tip.
- Thread a length of colour B through the tip of the tree, behind the star, and tie into a hanging loop.
- Weave in all ends.
