What you'll make
4 pieces (Head, Nose, Hat, Brim), 37 rounds in all, every round with its stitch count written at the end so you can check as you go.
Tips
- Work in continuous spiral rounds and move your stitch marker up every round.
- Count your stitches at the end of each round; the number in brackets is what you should have.
- Use a hook a size smaller than your yarn label suggests, so the stuffing doesn't show.

Assembly
- Stuff the Head firmly before closing it. Stuff the Hat lightly so the point stands up.
- Sew the hat to the brim at Rnd 4. The open edge of the Hat centred on the Brim, all the way round.
- Sew the brim to the head between Rnds 2 and 3. The Brim centred over the top of the Head, covering the magic ring.
- Sew the nose to the head at Rnd 7. Centred on the front of the face.
- Embroider the two eyes on the head at Rnd 6 with colour B. One on each side, just above the Nose, about 6 stitches apart.
- Embroider the small smile on the head at Rnd 9 with colour B. Centred under the Nose.
- Hair: cut 40 strands of colour C, each 12 cm (5 in) long. Fold each strand in half and knot it through a stitch (a fringe knot) round the sides and back of the head at Rnd 5, just under the brim, about 20 stitches wide, leaving the face clear. Trim the hair to about 5 cm (2 in) long.
- Thread a length of colour B through the tip of the Hat and tie into a hanging loop.
- Weave in all ends.
