What you'll make
2 pieces (Body, Arm), 21 rounds in all, every round with its stitch count written at the end so you can check as you go.
Tips
- Work in continuous spiral rounds and move your stitch marker up every round.
- Count your stitches at the end of each round; the number in brackets is what you should have.
- Use a hook a size smaller than your yarn label suggests, so the stuffing doesn't show.

Arm (make 2, colour A), about 1.5 cm (0.6 in) across at its widest
- Rnd 1 4 sc in MR 4
- Rnd 2 inc in each st around 8
- Rnds 3-6 sc in each st around 8
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff lightly.
Assembly
- Stuff the top of the Body lightly so the head is round; leave the open hem unstuffed so the ghost stands on it.
- Scalloped hem: with colour A still on the hook after the last round of the Body (or join it at the open edge), work one more round: (sc in next st, skip 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, skip 2 sts) 5 times, sl st into the first sc. This makes 5 scallops. Fasten off and weave in.
- Sew the arms to the body at Rnd 9. One on each side, a quarter of the way round from the face, angled down and out.
- Embroider the two oval eyes on the body around Rnds 6-7 with colour B. On the front, about 5 stitches apart.
- Embroider the big round satin-stitch mouth on the body at Rnd 8 with colour B. Centred under the eyes, stitched solid.
- Thread a length of colour A through the top of the head and tie into a hanging loop.
- Weave in all ends.
